Iain McClennon

Bass Guitar, Vocals

I was born at a very early age, at a dismally early hour, and some say on another planet where, so they also say, I mostly reside. Fair enough.

I have spent my entire life in pursuit of musical excellence, the fruits of which have taken the form of writing, recording, producing, arranging and performing, and remain in pursuit of excellent pizza, or so the story goes. My influences include most of the usuals (Beatles, Bee Gees, Beach Boys, and other pop greats of the Sixties) and many of the unusuals (Sons of Champlin, Dave Brubeck, Norton Buffalo, Don Ellis and countless others). I also carry the burden of being one of two tall bassists in Oregon to have declined membership in the Little River Band, and having had to decline a similar position with The Association “because of Uncle Sam’s deal.”

The past 30 years have been spent founding and performing with BOULEVARD (a regionally popular vocal jazz quintet who once shared management with the Beach Boys), ODYSSEY (A Moody Blues Experience), The BYRDBRAINS (a currently ongoing project), and Sounder (a group comprised of guys who have all spent the past four decades crossing paths). I play Rickenbacker, Hofner and Fender basses through Peavey, Sunn and Fender amps, most of which are older than my audience members.
